Tuckaway Bay  Books  by Madelaide James That One Summer, Book 1 He’s the one who got away. She’s the one who couldn’t commit. Lia Langston left Tuckaway Bay twenty years ago, leaving behind an attractive job offer and the young man she’d fallen in love with that summer. The breakup hurt them both, but she was expected back home in Chicago where a new job was waiting, one her father had pulled strings to help her land. While Lia wasn’t thrilled with the idea of jumping from beach life into Corporate America, as a new college graduate, she knew the family expectations. She meanders through life—marriage, a child, divorce, career—yet there is one constant. She never misses a summer trip back to the beach with her college girlfriends. By the time beach week rolls around each year, she is more than ready to shake off her troubles, unwind, and unplug with the girls. And every summer, Lia wonders if she might run into Zach Allen again. She doesn’t. Then Zach steps back into her life. Suddenly

Buy Direct from Me - Get All The Perks!

I'm an independent author. I didn't start out that way. Originally, I published with large and small presses, from 1997 to 2010. I published with Kensington, Thorndike, Triskelion, Resplendence Publishing, and Vasko Books. Some were better experiences, than others.

In 2010, I opened my own small publishing company, fully intending to only publish my own work. Soon, I was helping other authors and also publishing their works, too. That venture grew to 80 authors and publishing over 500 titles in a little over 5 years. Then, in 2015, the publishing industry took some hits, and I decided to close that business. I went back to working a day job. And I still dabbled in writing/publishing my own work.

But, the wind was taken out of my sails, so to speak, for a while. A couple of years ago, I decided to move fully into the independent author space and not only publish my works wide (for me, putting all my eggs into one basket is not a good business decision) but also to sell my books directly from my website.

I've tried a couple of different shops. I've landed on one I love. My website and bookstore are fully integrated now and you can buy all of my ebooks directly from me.

But what's in it for you when you buy direct?

Here's what:

1) You become a customer, and customers get perks! Buying direct puts you in contact with me through my newsletter, so you will always get my news, sales, and new release info first.

2) You unlock opportunities for savings:

  • And customers only are offered exclusive free books and bonus content periodically through my newsletter.
Sounds like a WIN-WIN for you, and for me. 😁 Why don't you hop over to the bookstore now and check it out?

What's in it for me?

1) You are supporting small business. That's always a good thing!
2) I develop closer relationships with readers who love my books. I know who is buying what, and I can tailor my newsletter content more closely to your needs.
3) Buying direct also cuts out the middle-man (all the ebook retailers) and puts a few more cents per book into my pocket, which in turn, helps keep my lights on in my house. :)
4) Selling direct (as well as marketing via email) puts me in full control of my products (books) and I don't have to rely on the quirks of retailers and social media for selling. I like control. :)

How easy is it to buy from my website? Easy Peasy.
